Rim to River
See Grand Canyon from two different perspectives: from the rim and from its depths.
For the 2014 we are piloting a new approach to our Rim to River programs. In conjunction with our longtime non-profit partner, Global Explorers. In an effort to meet our mission to reach youth from diverse backgrounds, these programs are part of Global Explorers' Leading the Way travel opportunities. They are designed for youth with visual and/or hearing impairments as well as sighted and hearing able youth. Any young person can apply for these programs. These amazing journeys will focus on experiencing Grand Canyon through service, adventure and teamwork.
This program is also in collaboration with Grand Canyon National Park. This program includes time at the South Rim on a variety of service projects, getting to know your peers, and working as a team before embarking on an exciting river trip. Once on the river, you will assist in research projects with scientists, go on hikes, and venture down the whitewater of the Colorado River.
The application process for these programs will be run through Global Explorers. For dates, price or more information please visit the Global Explorers website: www.globalexplorers.org/leadingtheway
