Volunteerism and community service are integral to Grand Canyon Youth’s organizational ethos.

Based in Flagstaff, Arizona, we are actively involved in our community.

We donate leftover food to local missions and food banks and our old sleeping bags to homeless shelters and animal shelters. Our participants give back over 8,000 hours of service to their communities each year through a variety of projects.

We are very grateful to the many volunteers who help us work towards our mission and donate thousands of hours each year. Our volunteers assist with everything, including:

  • Packing sleep kits
  • Helping to organizing our annual fundraiser
  • Repairing river equipment
  • Providing legal and financial advice and expertise
  • Donating their photography for our marketing use
  • And much more!

Our Trip Coordinators are volunteers and contribute a great deal of time and expertise to our programs each year.

If you are interested in volunteering with GCY, e-mail Emma Wharton, Executive Director.
